Home / Art & Music / When Sushi Fights Back
If you haven’t had a chance to visit Deviant Art, I highly recommend you put it on your
short list of things to do. Its a great venue for artists to showcase and sell their work. To me its one of the best venues to see a huge variety of artistic genres and styles.
Take the artist Lolita. Her “Sushi” art is shown to the right. As a sushi lover it make me laugh as I thought of all the people who shun sushi like plague. This art captured that fear in a humorous way.
That is really the power of art — the emotional response that it causes us to feel. For myself, more surreal or illustrative art invokes the strongest response from e, whereas abstract art just leaves me wondering why it is even considered art.
I know its an unfair assessment of abstract art, but it has a nullifying effect on me, I feel nothing for it. Not even dislike, its more of a detached boredom.
And this is just one example from Deviant Art. You can check out Lolita-art’s portfolio at Deviant Art of on her homepage.
